August 2008

Dear Tashua Families,

The staff and I are anticipating the start of the new school year.  Our teachers have been busy planning their lessons and preparing their classrooms for your child and we are all looking forward to helping your child grow, both academically and socially.  We are also looking forward to working together with you to insure your child will have a productive year.

I hope your child has been reading, writing and practicing math facts during the vacation.  Remember your child is responsible for reading a minimum of two books over the summertime. Your child will have the opportunity to share the books he or she read with their teachers and classmates the first week of school.  I know your child will want to participate in this sharing session.  It is also important for your child to practice math facts, as math classes will be much easier if he or she is fluent with these facts.   Math packets and the summer reading lists are available on the Trumbull Public Schools website (www.trumbullps.org).

Please remember to use our website ( www.tashuaschool.com ) as a resource.  Most of the important information you need is located on this site.  We are continually updating it so the information will be current.

I hope you enjoy the remaining days of summer and I look forward to seeing you at our Open Houses, Back –to-School Nights and on the first day of school.

Sincerely,

Charlotte Janis

Principal
