Our bus drivers
have the responsibility for the safety of all the students assigned to his or
her bus route. The driver can only
perform this responsibility with the cooperation of all of the students.
The aim of this
notice is to inform our students and parents of a few basic rules of proper bus
conduct and safe practices. Please
encourage your child to observe these rules at all times.
-
Line up away from the street or road
as the school bus approaches.
-
Wait until the bus has stopped and
the door opens before stepping onto the roadway.
- When
on the bus, find a seat and sit down.
- Use
a quiet speaking voice while riding the bus.
-
Never put head, arms or hands out the
window.
-
Keep the aisles clear of books and
backpacks.
-
At your stop, wait for the bus to
completely stop before getting up from your seat.
-
If you have to cross the street after
you exit the bus make sure you can see the bus driver and the bus driver
can see you before you cross the street.
When the bus driver signals, walk across the road.
By taking a few
minutes out of your busy day to review these rules for getting on and off the
school bus, together we can insure the safety of our children to and from
school.
Our Safety Patrols help to provide guidance for our
youngsters so that they will be safe whether riding
the bus or walking. It also affords the patrols the
opportunity to develop their leadership qualities.
On the bus, patrol members help seat the children,
help when the children are exiting the bus, and
remind the students of the bus rules.
Walker patrols are ever mindful of the traffic and
help everyone to pay close attention to the adult
crossing them. Their service to the school and
community is appreciated.
